NAB Show floors look different from CES — the buyers are working broadcast engineers and post-production studios who care about live equipment demos, signal paths, and acoustic isolation more than they care about polished retail aesthetics. The booths that win at NAB have working demo bays, sound-isolated edit suites built into the structure, and ceiling rigs that actually carry production weight. That's specialty fabrication, and it's our wheelhouse.
Why NAB matters
NAB attendees buy equipment. Hands-on demos drive 70%+ of qualified leads collected during the show. If your demo bay design rushes attendees through, or if the noise from the booth next door bleeds into your audio demo, you've wasted the build. Get it right and your sales pipeline funds next year's booth.
Lead time + planning
NAB is April — engagement should start by November of the prior year. Lighting + AV-integrated builds with hanging signs need 12–14 weeks. Late starts force shortcuts that show up in the demo bay isolation and the rigging quality.
Budget reality
Most NAB custom builds we deliver fall between $60K (20×30 with one demo bay) and $300K (40×60 island with multiple soundproofed bays and rigged truss).

Common pitfalls at NAB
Acoustic bleed between bays
Stock booth walls don't isolate audio. Demo bays for monitor systems, headphone tests, or live mixing need real stud walls with sound batt insulation, not laminate panels on extrusion.
Hanging sign rigging mistakes
NAB requires rigged signs to be installed by Freeman labor with approved hardware. Bring your own and you'll redo it on-site at union rates.
Power load underspec
Broadcast equipment draws hard. We've seen exhibitors trip 30A breakers running camera arrays plus monitor walls plus demo bays from one ordered drop. Spec power early.
